What exactly is with this second check requirement if I want to have health insurance coverage for an abortion? What is Nelson's point? Is this pure crap? Is it another way to tell women that their reproductive lives are dependent on corporate men and politcians?

Or to some religious group. Or to fund more wars. Or straight into Congre$$ pockets.

4. Any woman of reproductive age should buy the rider
So what if we don't "plan" to have an abortion? I don't "plan" to get sick, but I buy health insurance. I don't "plan" to have my house burn down, but I have homeowner's insurance.

5. What you're asking us to have is a 2nd insurance to cover the stove in the house.

When it should be covered with the other contents.

6. I'm not asking you to do anything
I'm simply answering the contention that no one would buy a rider because no one plans to have an abortion. No one plans to have anything happen that is covered by insurance, but we buy it anyway.

I do admit to being non-plussed by all the indignation being exhibited over this amendment, as it changes absolutely nothing from what it is now.
