1. If the SEnate bill is the one that gets signed by Obama the Republicans will have been right when they said that Obama would increase everyone's taxes. The employer portion of premiums paid for your health insurance will no longer be a pre-tax benefit. Your taxes are going up, and your net pay is going down. What a wonderful gift Obama is giving us for Christmas!! :sarcasm:
2. If the Senate version of the bill is passed, those without insurance will be forced to buy insurance. Since there will be no real competition in the market to bring down premiums, and since there will not be sufficient subsidies to pay those premiums, the poor working class---those making minimum wage, will see the majority of their paychecks being spent on health insurance. With no regulations on co-pays and deductibles, these people with this insurance won't be able to afford TO USE THE DAMNED POLICY. We will be creating people who are poorer and UNDERINSURED.
3. The "pre-existing" conditions part of the Senate bill will not kick in until 2014. If you don't have insurance now, I hope you don't have a pre-existing condition--like cancer, or high-blood pressure, because if so, YOU ARE SCREWED.
That's just three little nasty facts. I'm glad to be able to enlighten you, because I know you could not have found out about them in any other place on this website. :eyes:
