Republicans are not your enemies and Democrats are not your allies
This much is completely clear at this point.

Both Republicans and Democrats have been slowly but surely brainwashed and manipulated by big business to do their bidding. And when I say Democrats I mean most of the true Left as well as the centrist "social-liberals".

By fighting against Republicans we are distracted from fighting against the corporations. Big business has in the last year brazenly and undeniably shown that it doesn't matter who is in office so long as we continue to allow them to pull the strings. We've been spinning our wheels campaigning for centrist (read somewhat right) Dems against centrist (read somewhat more right) Republicans, while at the end of the day the true power brokers were never threatened.

At the end of the day we might get a few more crumbs with Dems in office than Repubs, but real change will require taking the power back from the corporation.

So how to do that? I think that the only real change will come with campaign finance and lobbying reform. Until those two issues are fixed we'll continue to be further and more thoroughly enslaved and abused. Or we can simply wait until they completely bleed this country dry and move on to the next.

But I for one won't raise a finger or a dime for any non Far-Left candidate for the rest of my life. No more "lesser" of two evils bullshit for me. It's not worth the gas it takes to drive to the polling station.

13. I'd sure like to believe that.
But I hear plenty of right-wing, bigoted, hateful crap spewing from people whose hearts are most certainly not "in the right places"! Yes they are gullible, yes they are easily controlled by lying bastards, but part of the reason for this is that they see something of themselves in these awful leaders. ("Sarah is just like me!") Decent people would not be swayed by outrageous lies. These appalling wingnuts want so badly for the lies to be true that they simply swallow them whole. To me, that does not indicate hearts that are "in the right places". Sorry.

10. Democorps vs Republicorps....
...All the good Senators on C-Spin now... crowing about how great their health care bill is.

Nelson, Baucus, Reid, Dodd... what a bunch of blowhards... all owned by big insurance.

The only country in the world that profits from disease and illness.

12. Both are our enemies, and we have to start acting like we understand that.
Mainstream Democrats WILL NOT give us anything - we have to take it from them with left wing candidates who we can vote into office. We must do the work, pay the freight and actually VOTE for our own people.

We must get serious and take the party back from the closed republicans who run it now.

If we don't, our choices will be bounded by Sarah Palin on the right and Ben Nelson on the "left".

14. We're Definitely Both Being Played.
However, I have noticed that Democrats seem more willing to acknowledge when those on their "side" do something wrong, whereas most Republicans seem to just blindly embrace any action taken by anyone with an "R" after their name.

Full disclosure: I'm a registered independent who's been as disgusted with nearly every move Obama's made as I was with Bush.
