Perhaps A Dumb Question - But Who Is Involved In The Conference That's Supposed To Merge The ...... |
|
Senate and House versions of the HCR bills. Who are the players that will be involved with that process? Just Pelosi and Reid? Any other Senators and Representatives?
I keep hearing about the conference - but I don't believe I've ever heard how that process works or who is involved in the process?
Any help here would be appreciated.
Just an additional comment - it doesn't look like this 'conference' will take long. I'm sure as soon as the airports reopen in D.C. that these politicians will want to get out as fast as possible.
I don't think we'll see any major changes in the Senate bill. I think Pelosi and the House will have to suck it up and vote for whatever is tossed up to them.

5. I Can't Believe That They Haven't Been Chosen Yet ..... |

I would buy that they haven't been announced yet - but I have to think that the players have been identified.
Also - does the WH play any role in this conference - or is this strictly a legislative branch activity?

3. Seems To Me The Players In This Conference Are Important...... |
|
I hope not Baucus, Stupak or Nelson. And are any Repugs in on this Conference - or is this just a Dem activity?

8. its strictly legislative thing |
|
but the white house will have people there. so who knows how much influence they have on things. its all closed doors and smoked filled rooms. but those rooms tend to treat us pretty good.

9. I don't think Nelson...... |
|
But Baucus, perhaps, as he is chair of the finance committee. He's not who I would wish for, but he would be way better than Nelson!
I think Harkin also mentioned Rockefeller.
Harkin was on Randi Rhodes on Thursday or Friday. She asked that question.

10. According to Sen Harkin, Senate conferees are Harkin, Rockefeller, Reid, |
|
Dodd, & Baucus.
Has there been any word on the House conferees?
