Obama Last Chance With Progressives - Pick & Win A Fight And Give Progressives a GOD DAMN Victory!

I truly want Obama to succeed and I think his last chance to regain the trust of the Democratic wing of the Democratic party is to pick a fight and win a battle for progressives. It is the only thing that I can think of that might mitigate the political disaster he and Rahm have created in this last year.

I would offer that Obama should take on campaign finance reform or any subject related to restoring some balance between corporate interests and public interests in our government. I am sure there are other fights that Obama might choose, but he had better do SOMETHING significant for progressives or we will see just how pissed off they have become in the next election cycle and one after that. Continuing to deliver for corporate interests in such a transparent manner will lose my vote for sure and I am sure that of many others as well.

In short, give us a god damned victory or go away!

Just as there is no healthcare reform, just as there will be no financial reform. Corporations will fight against it just on the principle of opposing ANY regulation, but there won't be any real reform in the bill that passes -- because no real reform is being proposed to begin with.
