Damn!! I WANT to support the Democratic party AND this president, but every time I get close to
saying: "OK, maybe I am wrong; maybe Obama's heart is in the right place and he has simply screwed up", I get slapped upside the head with something that just doesn't leave too much room for interpretation or rationalization.

I could live with the president simply misreading how important the public option and other pro-consumer provisions are to most of us. I wouldn't like it, but I could live with it if the course correction was clear and permanent. I WANT to support climate change legislation. I WANT to support card check and marriage equality and reimposing Glass-Steagall and---I WANT to support President Obama.

But, damn it all to hell---how do I do that when he "pulls a Bush" and DENIES THAT HE CAMPAIGNED ON THE PUBLIC OPTION?

I'm sorry, but if this man hasn't achieved the consolidation of his defecation by State of the Union time, he will very likely be a lame duck.

2. Obama is no longer the Democratic Candidate for President
He is the President of the United States, and must speak for all of us, not just the Democrats.

It is a tough adjustment. I know.

For what is worth, I'm for the public option, but I don't remember him Making that particular promise during the campaign, nor would it have made a difference in my vote.

Whenever I have been disapointed in Obama's choices, and there have been numerous times, I think to myself: "I wonder what President Palin would have done".

Then I shudder, throw up a little bit in my mouth, swallow hard, and press on...

6. The insurance lobby has a HELL of a lot of power.
They have so much money they could totally destroy any politician in the next election. They could destroy a political party. You know they are the reason there is no Public Option. So quit expecting your support of certain politicians to make any real immediate difference.

I think the only real chance we have of changing the system without violence will be by getting the right people into the Supreme Court. Because they don't need to raise campaign funds.

that would be like giving money to the school yard bully without being forced. I am so conflicted about the entire state of politics in the USA.
