Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream

Was once owned by Ben and Jerry two former hippies. It used to be an independent Ice Cream maker in Vermont. It was very popular amongst progressives because of the social mission of the company and the values of it's founders

In 2000 it was sold to Unilever a British and Dutch food conglomerate.

The brand still does socially good things, but people are fooling themselves if they think the decisions are being made by Ben and Jerry or that the brand would ever engage in any activism that would be not in the best interest of Unilever.

This is my analogy for the democratic party.

The people just turned on each other in response, right now your government is run by corporate stooges playing with the lights through campaign donations.

You can not serve two masters type of thing. If you have to represent the interest of both your donors and your voters, than you are stuck in a decision when they conflict. Generally speaking, money is always the deciding factor.

Does that mean 10 out of every 100 B&J eaters get really pissed off when B&J's doesn't make a flavor EXACTLY as that 10 wanted? Do those 10 stomp their feet, hold their breath and swear off B&J's forever? Do those 10 call the B&J eaters who disagree with them 'Blue Bunny Ice Creamers' simply because they know that with current machinary, it is impossible to make it EXACTLY as the 10 want?

If so, then this is a true analogy for the Democratic Party.
