2. How about investigated:
INVESTMENT BANKING
In Banking, Top Obama Aide Made Money and Connections
December 4, 2008, 7:08 AM

In late 1998, while Washington was in the throes of the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Rahm Emanuel, a departing senior political aide to President Bill Clinton, ventured out to an elegant restaurant in Dupont Circle for something of a job interview, The New York Times’s Michael Luo writes.

John Simpson, who ran the Chicago office of the investment banking boutique Wasserstein Perella & Company, had flown to Washington to meet with Mr. Emanuel at the behest of Mr. Simpson’s boss, Bruce Wasserstein, a major Democratic donor and renowned Wall Street dealmaker who had gotten to know Mr. Emanuel.

“I had this idea that this could work and that it had upside,” Mr. Wasserstein, now chairman and chief executive of Lazard, the investment bank, told The Times. “It worked out better than I could have hoped.”

And better than Mr. Emanuel could have imagined as well. Over the course of a three-hour-plus dinner, Mr. Simpson and Mr. Emanuel discussed how they might work together. Shortly afterward, Mr. Emanuel accepted an offer, nudging him down what has by now become a well-trodden gilded path out of politics and into the lucrative world of business.

Mr. Emanuel, who was chosen last month to become President-elect Barack Obama’s White House chief of staff, went on to make more than $18 million in just two-and-a-half years, turning many of his contacts in his substantial political Rolodex into paying clients and directing his negotiating prowess and trademark intensity to mergers and acquisitions. He also benefited from the opportune sale of Wasserstein Perella to a German bank, helping him to an unusually large payout.

6. I advocate nothing.
I just want Rahm Emanuel to resign from his post immediately, and then sit in his house waiting for his next assignment.

12. Great. Now it's still time to fire Emanuel anyway because he's worthless
All he did was bring in DINO's that have already made their way into the Republican side.

Emanuel is worthless - he recruits Blue Dogs and Conservadems. We don't need those. We need progressives, true liberals and Democratic socialists (Bernie is a registered Dem Socialist)

16. I worked my butt off to bring Udall into the Senate
And I'm getting rid of our carpetbagger Senator Michael Bennet who doesn't belong in the U.S. Senate and replaced with my ex-state representative and former Speaker of the House who has attained huge popularity here in the state of Colorado.

... oh and he doesn't take PAC money.

That's my kind of Senator.

Which reminds me - I must go to Andrew Romanoff's office to see if they need any more data entry work..

After being lurched to the wayyyyyy-right during Raygun/Bush/Clinton/Chimp/Obama years.. it's time to head back to the left/center-left.

Right now Obama is center-right and has no intention of going back to left.

That's why Rahm was installed.

I want him out, and Obama to rememeber how he got there. It wasn't Rahm.

36. Well, "good cop/bad cop" IS probably the most basic con in existence.
I've been accusing Obama of playing "good cop/bad cop" (also known as "the unreasonable partner" con) since he ran out the clock on Michigan's primary, at any rate.

29. One way ticket back to Chicago
This is not in any way meant to bash Obama but I believe Rahm has been his biggest mistake. I have never liked this guy and never will. Rahm has about as much empathy for the average American as does Tom Coburn. The fact that our president is getting advice/counsel from him is unsettling, to say the least.

Edited on Wed Dec-23-09 12:43 PM by ProgressIn2008
Edited because some people might actually think I was being sarcastic and wanted that option.

I think RE's just about the same as the rest of 'em and Obama hired him because he is what he is. I wonder sometimes -- it really seems like folks think that Obama is getting fooled by Rahm. If it wasn't so tragic, it would be funny. But, it does show he's fulfilling his function well.
