House Rep. stole voter data before defecting to GOP, Dems say

A US House representative from Alabama took voter registration information from Democratic Party offices before defecting to the GOP, the Alabama branch of the Democratic Party says.

Rep. Parker Griffith (D-AL) announced his switch to the Republican Party on Tuesday, telling the press he can "no longer align self with a party that continues to pursue legislation that is bad for our country, hurts our economy, and drives us further and further into debt."

1. Is that theft of data a crime...
If so, charge him and send his ass to jail.

2. This is so wrong
The Democrats have worked very hard on its database(s). The party has done this to respond to the old GOP 72 hour GOTV system which was basically a database with contact info for GOP voters and a plan to mobilize such voters for each election. I have worked with the Texas Democratic Party Voter Activiation Network which has an amazing amount of data on it. If the Alabama Democratic Party has anything similar, then this is a major theft and breach of ethics.

3. Breach Of Ethics - He's Gone Over To The Right Party Then......
the Repugs are not ethical. I wonder what they promised or paid him - to defect?

The Dems should now do a raid on the Repug party and see if they can get anyone to switch. There must be some of these people that can't live with themselves because of what their party is doing.

5. Ok, Alabama, DoJ, it's time to eject this man. Congress needs to put him in ethics trial
and throw him out of the Congress altogether.

And have him arrested on theft of property. Criminal facilitation.

7. Should we look for figs to grow on thorns? But even as thorns go, that was
utterly despicable.
