Very Surprising Results on Catholics-United Poll re HCR

I answered this poll earlier and did not expect them to e-mail me back with the results. I honestly expected totally different answers than what they received. The comments are also very interesting.

1. M ost Catholics are compassionate, loving people...
who care deeply about social injustice and helping the poor and afflicted. The church has recently been captured by crotchety old men and right wingers who have used the abortion issue to try to return to the ggod ol' days of serfdom and royalty.

2. I agree. What I expected was vehement objection to the rights
of women on this but the poll reflects quite differently. I wonder if the Church realizes how many of their Catholic females are on the pill??...LOL.

5. Catholics are mostly sensible people
who realize a celibate old man has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to things like pregnancy and childbirth and don't even bother mentioning the birth control and occasional abortion in the confessional.

3. Agreed.
The church swings left and right just like any other organization. It swung way right when Ratzenberger(sp?) took over. The dogma of control is strong in him, but American Catholics have always been a breed of their own too.
