Twas the night before Recovery, when all through the house Emails were flying with the click of a mouse! Letters and calls and faxes to the Chair, In hopes a bill will be passed on health care.
The republicans, so few, and Lieberman too With visions of insurance lobbyists dancing in their shoes And Nancy in her kerchief, and I in my knit All of my friends say I am so full of wit.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter I woke from my slumber, a group of tea baggers “What a maroon!” I yelled as they linger Tore open the shutters to shoot them the uh…..
With their moldy old driver, so lurching and slick I knew in a moment it was Cheney, the Dick Mumbling and stumbling with Hutchinson in pace Looking for someone to shoot in the face
He was thin and tall, a right jolly young dude I arrested his friend then shared a cold brew A wink of his eye and a wap on my head Soon gave me to know there was work straight ahead
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work To fix our great country devastated by a jerk Our economy was crumbling, our country at war Our soldiers are dying and a lot lot more.
Our kids are sick with no insurance for care Students look for college funds from coffers so bare Republican leaders with hearts so empty and cold Hoping for our death instead of growing old.
But with a gleem in his eye and words so smooth We all knew what was needed and what we needed to do
Now Obama! now, Nancy! now, Reid and Biden! On, Don! On, Rob! no sense in hiding! Fix our economy, create more jobs Stop the wars and health care for all!
He sprang to his role as leader of the team And they got to work to fulfill his dream And I heard him exclaim, as he rode into the night Happy Holidays to all, better days are in sight!
