It is Christmas Eve-Eve, 2009. DU is raising funds to feed the hungry, one out of six Americans is on food stamps, real unemployment is about 17%---and Lexus and BMW are urging us to buy $50K-plus automobiles as Christmas presents.

Is "insensitive" even the right word?

2. I will say again
that the "feed America" ad at the top is an example of what is both wrong and right about America. The richest nation in the World should never have got itself in a position where it has to beg to feed its own people. The fact that ordinary people respond so well is a testament to the good side of the American populace.

That ad should be a source of shame to those who run the Country and Industry.

5. I agree with you ... the "Lexus in December" ads are
making me ill and if I see that damn commercial from Reeds Jewelers and that stupid knot collection, I'll scream! Hubby and I are not giving presents this year to each other just so we can do more for our two kids. Feel lucky to be able to do that, I was laid off last March and unemployment sucks.
