Whatever year-end holiday(s) you observe (or don't), I would like to wish all of you a happy holiday season, and a great 2010. Thank you for everything you have done to support this amazing community of progressives this year. Democratic Underground is not a collection of words and pages somewhere on the Internet -- more than anything, it is a community of people. You make DU great.

I know that 2009 has occasionally been a confusing and difficult year for this community. Now that Democrats are in charge, we face a situation unlike any we have seen before, in which our memberhip includes both critics and defenders of the people in power. Sometimes the disagreements seem so malicious and over-the-top that even I get sick if it. Let's all make an effort to remember those things that unite us rather than divide us. We have a lot more in common than it seems. When we disagree, we can do so in a spirit if mutual respect.
