Jesse Ventura Conspiracy Theory on truTV
http://www.trutv.com/shows/conspiracy_theory/index.html

There's been three to four episodes already.

Pretty interesting stuff. Big Brother, 9-11, global warming.

Doesn't seem to resonate here at DU hardly at all.

I think that it's wonderful he got this type of stuff on TV.

Question: Is Jesse on the level or is he merely doing the work of a CIA psych-ops misinformation unit?

1. I'm not sure, but the show is entertaining and informative.
I also like some of Jesse Ventura's positions on a few key issues.

2. Perhaps it doesn't resonate here because Ventura is a fruitloop

3. I had high hopes for Jesse in this new venture. Those hopes are dashed.
He had a real chance to address these subjects seriously and tenaciously. Instead, he show is a joke. If I had the choice between "Are they serious?" or "Are they psy-ops?", I'd have to choose the latter. Another choice would be "Is it just another bubble-gum entertainment show?", which I'm most inclined to answer "Yes".

4. I watched it the other night on global warming
He made good points, but my first thought was that all the pollution in the air and atmosphere cannot be good in any way, so his argument was pointless.

5. I think it's a good show to inform those who don't follow politics
I admire him for bringing 'conspiracy theories' into mainstream. I watched his show about Big Brother and if I didn't already know all about it I would be paying attention.

I think he's like Ed Schultz. His message reaches the Center conservatives and I think Ventura reaches even further into the far right.

6. i saw a couple of them
The Global Warming one talks about the profits behind the carbon tax system, but doesn't really
cover the facts on global warming.
The 9/11 one made one serious claim that said they (air traffic controllers) knew hijackers were in cockpit before a jet took
off, but the still allowed it to take off and no one stopped it in flight. Will they investigate this one statement?

7. Jesse is a self-promoting showman.
We learned that the hard way here in Minnesota. Jesse is all about publicity for Jesse. He'll promote any crackpot conspiracy theory he thinks will get viewers.

11. He's probably on the level, but "level" for Ventura...
...is like calling the roof of a Quonset hut "flat". (Google "Quonset hut" if you need this explained to you.)

Every conspiracy theory has different degrees (as a quick example, for 9/11, LIHOP vs MIHOP), some of which are more far-fetched than others. Some aspects which may be easily debunked don't necessarily disprove other aspects of a particular case, and if you don't sort through these differences you're just doing a "drive by" investigation.

I haven't seen the show, but "carefully sorting through the nuances" doesn't strike me as Ventura's style.

13. He's hard to take, always was: The dull thud of his voice and his thud opinions
I saw one of the new show, interesting subject (the radio frequencies we're blasting that might be affecting the weather), but his presence was killing. He instantaneously degenerated into his bluster, whether he's overpowering his young researchers with authoritarian demands and orders or whether he was booming at the booming at the government caretaker at the fence, it was just HIM being a DULL THUD that killed off any curiosity about the subject.

15. It would be interesting, but I can't get past the melodrama.
Ventura is worse than the guy from Americas Most Wanted.

16. I saw the commercial for the show.
I seriously didn't recognize Jesse without his 'stache.

"I ain't got time to bleed."

"Got time to duck?"

17. i think he is not necessarily saying he believes in any of these theories
although he may believe in some. what he is doing is merely airing them in the open.

sunlight being the best disinfectant.

18. Wrestler Jesse "The Body" Ventura or actor Steven Seagal
I don't know which show is funnier. O.K. you got me, Steven Seagal: "Backseat Driver" Lawman is way funnier.
