Came back from Mexico yesterday.

Security was about the same leaving Puerto Vallarta. But once on the plane, we were informed that due to restrictions we wouldn't be able to be up out of our seats or have any electronic devices or access to overhead bins for the last hour of the flight.

Once into Customs, the process wen't pretty normally - no big delays or additional scrutiny that I could tell.

Outside, however, the parking/passenger pickup Nazis were the worst I've ever seen. Our ride was driving by where were standing inside the doors so we didn't have to stand in the cold. Before he could pull in to find a place to park, the Nazis were there yelling at him to move the car, move the car! We were RUNNING down the sidewalk waving our arms. He stayed put and put up with this 5 minute harangue from this guy who just would NOT shut UP! We finally got all our bags in the car and pulled of and he was STILL yelling at our friend like a drill sargent wanting more push ups. HORRIBLE. What a jerk.

Before all those who carried out denazification in Germany pass away, we need to have them train up another crew to denazify the U.S. Give them the charge to go out and identify and de-badge all the assholes who overstep their authority. As you observed they have infiltrated everywhere: police, airport security, mall cops, etc. The whole country needs a full time attitude adjustment.
