Republican congressman says "I love you" to Wall St. crook
There's a nice, long investigative report that goes with this, but this clip from the first couple of paragraphs is really all you need to know.

It would be hard for Democrats in Congress to claim much moral superiority to this guy though since so many of them act like they are personal assistants to Wall Street sociopaths.

It would be nice if someone doing the legislative equivalent of saying I love you to this scumbag was enough to end a political career. It would at least be an improvement if this particular crooked pol's career ended for being so literal about it.

``I love you and believe in you,'' said the e-mail sent on Feb. 17. ``If you want my ear/voice -- e-mail,'' it said, signed ``Pete.'' Just hours after federal agents charged banker Allen Stanford with fleecing investors of $7 billion, the disgraced financier received that message from one of Congress' most powerful members, Pete Sessions.

2. I wonder what Pete's constituents will have to say about this?
It certainly seems like it might be a stumbling block to re-election. I hope the other congressment under investigation are named soon. They need to be removed from power. now.

5. But but but
See how Stanford has aged on receiving that loving email from Pete.

Imagine all that love and still no bail - Madoff was lucky that he wasn't loved so dearly.

10. send this to his district. Or buy a google ad so anyone who googles his name gets it.
You can't expect Democrats to do anything that smart though.

They'll probably just give him a hug.

3. You mean stripper-PAC Pete?
I'm shocked I tells ya!

Working together, Notzen and Pete Sessions run one of the more successful PACs on Capitol Hill and last spring, Notzen's company planned an event for Pete Session's PAC in Vegas: a fundraiser at Ivan Kane's Forty Deuce.

Sessions: That's right, we do a Las Vegas fundraiser every year and not only raise money, but see Las Vegas. It's a beautiful town.

Henn: Forty Deuce is a strip club.

Sessions: You know, I've never seen that. It is what I would call a burlesque show where there's a woman who comes out and has a dress on... Uh, she never get's naked. There's no nudity, there's no nudity in there.

This is how the club's owner, Ivan Kane, describes his brand of burlesque...
