For the record: I am no friend of the American "put pressure on Iran" types. Furthermore, I think the people who have openly called for military strikes against Iran should be locked away for crimes against peace.

But these people who are hitting the streets right now are showing SPIRIT. I wish them luck and success for their cause.

24. I'm Recently Back From A Business Trip To Germany.....

on my way to Tegel Airport in Berlin in a taxi - I learned my driver was Iranian. We engaged in a discussion of what was going on in his country - and he predicted that the Amadinajad government would be overthrown within 2 years. He also predicted that before that would happen Israel would bomb Iran within 6 to 10 months.

So I'm just sitting back and waiting to see if any of his predictions will come to pass.

25. If they are truly a democratic movement we need not worry

about the US intervening. I wish all countries well when it comes to throwing off oppressive regimes. The problem with Iran for me is, the US's interests there. The current government apparently has refused to cave in to the authoritarian demands of the US. What would a new government do?

The last time the US interfered in Iran there was nothing but bloodshed for both their people and the people of Iraq. And we are also responsible for giving them the brutal Shah Of Iran's regime and secret police etc.

I don't know enough about who is behind these uprising to feel certain there is no CIA or Neocon involvement and I would hate to see people getting killed thinking their movement is theirs only, only to find out later, they get a puppet government as they have in the past.

Hard to believe the neocons would not be somehow involved in all of this. Not saying the ordinary people are not sincere, I just hope they are not caught between two nasty groups, their own government and ours.
