Bristol, Levi Custody Fight Brewing

A custody battle appears to be underway between Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston, notes Andrew Sullivan.

Last week, Palin's lawyer filed a motion for closure of custody proceedings that began on November 4th. He also filed a motion for "protective order" and one for the use of pseudonyms.

An Alaska blogger writes:

I believe that Van Flein was planning to use conviction as an argument for not allowing Levi to have joint custody. (...)

It looks like Van Flein has made a request to keep the custody proceedings closed to the media. If that is successful it will mean that even if I hear something I will not be able to pass it on. It also looks like he made a request that the court allow the use of pseudonyms to keep it quiet but the judge ruled against that which is why we know it is happening. It looks like Van Flein is being very aggressive.

Johnston announced in November his intention to file for joint custody of his son Tripp.
