Update to my kidney surgery

The pathology came back negative for cancer. I now only have one kidney. I am lucky to be someone with medical coverage or I would be broke. I promised I would let you know the outcome. I cannot reply to everyone individually but here is everyone that replied to my post.

There needs to be universal health care in America. It has really been on my mind that there are so many people that would need the procedure I had but could not afford it.

Thanks to everyone here at DU that commented on my previous post. It really encourages me that there are so many kind people that care about the well being of others.

If my interloper gives me problems, it's situated such that they will have to slice from front to back to get that bad boy out. I'm hoping there's no change in the growth ever.

I hope that you continue to heal and that everything is going well for you. Please rest and do whatever it takes to complete your recovery. One thing to remember at this time is that it's alright to rely on others more than usual. You're the kind of person who would do the same for others, so now it's your turn.

I had a major medical scare of my own 11 days ago so I have to remain calm and rest for a few months. The fact that we have no idea how we're going to pay the medical bills (despite having insurance), makes it a little harder to relax however.

I really wanted Universal Health Care for all Americans for Christmas, but the Grinch visited us instead of Santa Claus.
