Nationally popular Australian youth site: Kill all Jews, nuke them, "Let's make them a holocaust."

A nationally popular student website from the land down under was recently smeared with racist postings against Jews. High school students post threads saying: "Kill all Jews" and "I hope Iran nukes them big time." One of the posts discusses locations of synagogues in Sydney and provides instructions on how to make a Molotov cocktail.

Some said: We're just joking.

There are more than 290,000 members on the site, with an average of 7 million visitors per month. It is claimed that "There is not a high school student who does not use the site at least once during his studies."

4. I read the thread on that forum site regarding the racist comments.

They say it was the work of some trolls, which is not uncommon on these kinds of sites. The mods weren't doing their job.

One hundred percent of all sites with that kind of scale and popularity are going to have people posting things like that from time to time.

I'm not sure whether you think the incident should have been handled differently or what yr issue is, but you need to be aware that this sort of thing is not something that happens just to Jews. It's also aimed at Muslims and Asians and a lot of other groups, and I've seen some truly revolting groups about Muslims at Yahoo before...

it was the comments of someone named "Nebs" and a few others that were offensive. Some of the people responding here claimed it was Muslim trolls. Others said it was a convo about Zionist interests vs Palestine that got out of hand.

Trolls are people who try to disrupt discussions and agitate others. If you go to any other forums that are not specifically politically oriented and the mods are not vigilant, you get this kind of thing. The trolls don't necessarily rep a whole forum.

This happened months ago. The bigoted group and members were removed from the site, so I'm not sure what else should be done.

Also, that site is pumping itself up if it's making the claim there isn't a high school student who doesn't use it at least once. I don't know of a high school student where I am that has used it...

But hatred of Jews isn't always mitigated by numbers. Some people will hate Jews because they don't know any. Others will hate Jews because "there are too many." There were huge numbers of Jews in Poland before the Holocaust. Yet many in Poland seethed with anti-Semitism and supported the Holocaust.
