Anyone else sick of being bombarded with end of year donation requests? |
|
The only one I've actually signed up to donate to is Alan Grayson - I'm giving him $25/month for the next 11 months - only because he's a friend of mine and I believe in him.
I've gotten:
USO Environmental Defense Fund Alan Grayson Progressive Change Campaign Common Cause American Rights at Work PFAW Consumers Union Action Fund Mercy Corps Scott Maddox ACLU Alex Sink Commissioner Linda Stewart John Kelly Harris Dave Aronberg Heather Beaven for Congress MoveOn.org Russ Feingold for U.S. Senate
Because my job is at an end and I don't know where my next one is coming from the only one I have given to recently is Alan Grayson. Probably the only other one I want to give to right now is Al Franken for cutting off Joe LIEberman at the knees the other day on the Senate floor with that wonderful line: "I object".

1. more like I am sick of not being able to help |

REALLY sick of being close to broke all the damn time
I'm not a big consumer, don't need a bunch of junk and toys to be happy, but geez, a little safety net would be nice.

2. We give a lot of money to a lot of organizations |
|
I always chuckle when I get a "free" calendar for the next year from an organization which we have given a hundred bucks to and then about a month later we get the "we hope you got your calendar" letter with another opportunity to give. We got 14 "free" calendars this year.

4. A little off-topic, but do you know why a calendar is so sad? |
|
It's days are numbered.

Hey KD Happy New Year
We get all the "free" calendars in the mail and every year we go to the French Quarter and buy a calendar from a bar which is a fund raiser for the local animal shelter.
