5. I believe it. There was a time when I couldn't
and some kind soul donated for me. You have no idea how much I appreciated that star.

And yes, I've paid it forward and then some.

15. The only reason I have one right now is a generous Duer. I wish I could pay it forward.
Someday. Tax time hopefully.

8. My incredibly slow dial-up is $9.95 a month
Edited on Fri Jan-01-10 04:37 PM by panader0
I donate often enough to keep a star, but not much. Many net services aren't available where I live, and I can't afford a satellite.
Plus, I type really slow. (could be the post-party)
Oh yeah, my kids took my speakers.

6. Is that so or are you just saying if enough people
donate they won't need the money? Actually I have donated money in the past but I have been laid off since April 17, 2009, I am trying to cut back on the expenses.

7. If you are a current donor, the ads go away, doc.
Sorry to hear about your situation. I can empathize somewhat (I'm not completely unemployed, but have lost some of my income). Yes, not everyone can donate even a little.

13. Even if you're a donor........
you have to go to Options > Preferences and turn off ads at the bottom of the page.

14. Gee thanks to whoever gave me the star.
Yesterday was the first time I have heard any ads I didn't know you could shut them off by donating. I wasn't asking for donations but thanks anyway.

22. firefox + adblock plus. gets 99% of ads automatically plus you can zap the few that get through..
Honestly I forget how much crap ads there are all over the internet and then use someone elses computer.

Ouch it is brutal.

Nice thing about adblock is it NEVER DOWNLOADS the ads so it speeds up your browsing. Some ad software simply "hides" the ad after it has been downloaded.
