1. I've been watching something called "Nostradamus Effect" on the History Channel

and it is laying out all the current events that supports the eschatalogical mythology around Armageddon using "The War Scroll" as the basis for almost promoting a WWIII. It is scary how this is just put out there and mixed with current events to promote the state of mistrust and fear in the world. This program is mixing economic problems with the creation of the state if Israel and all sorts of events to do this.

I think they're playing off the rapture ready crowd. They're trying to combine current events with past "prophecies" to show that it is possible that 2012 is the end of the world. I'm not sure why I watch. I think I've always been fascinated by Nostradomus and stuff like this. I think we'll see 2013 alive as humans.

........all the ridiculous assertions are made by people stretching or exaggerating what ancient people with hardly any understanding of the actual world around. They used religion to explain the natural world which they did not nor do we fully understand. Humans just happen to be the most intelligent primate on this planet, we will become extinct someday just as all animals do. I think a more pressing issue than 2012, Nostradamus or any silly show of end times on television is our actual world and how some experts think because of current human actions and population trends almost half of the current species(plant, animal etc.) will become extinct by 2100. This is actually being seen in our own world today, does not involve the bible and is far more important than any ancient prophets whose writings are being exaggerated.

I especially enjoyed the run up to 2000. I had a grand old time surfing the web and finding the most insane websites.
in 1999 tons of evangelicals descended on poor Israel, to sit with videocams on the Hill of Megiddo, so they could tape the battle between Hunky jesus and satan.
