This push to allow business to shirk their civic responsibilities on the assumption they would benefit us with jobs has been a failure for years. About time someone said, as the article noted, "a deal's a deal," and called them on not holding up their end. This is, hopefully, the first nail in the coffin of trickle down economics.

I remember Clinton being questioned once about cutting taxes on business to create jobs and he said he knew the idea was popular but there needed to be some way to tie the tax cuts to the job creation. That made a lot of sense. Unfortunately, I never saw much push to hold them to their end of it or to make their tax cuts contingent on job creation.
