Our 31st Anniversary--A local production

We are celebrating our 31st Anniversary on Monday. On Sunday we're going to have a nice seafood dinner at a locally-owned restaurant. We're going to leave "the kids" (two German shepherds) with our daughter and spend a night in a locally-owned hotel in a very nice room with a whirlpool tub. We ordered matching his-and-hers gold and silver rings with a Klinkit-Haida Eagle/Raven pattern from an Alaska gold and silver smith through a local jeweler. I'm taking off work on Monday, and we'll probably do some shopping at our locally-owned used book store and have lunch at our favorite locally-owned coffee and sandwich shop.

We just wanted to see if it was possible. It is.

2. We did our 25th diving in Mexico

For us, "local" is Alaska. We're tried to leave twice during the past 25 years, but we moved back both times.

The whole 31 years hasn't been easy. The first 30 were really tough.

As soon as our son moves out of our house in Nebraska so we can sell it, we're heading for Hawaii ourselves.
