Finally, after two years, my 1000th post

While many have something important to say when they hit their 1000th post, I do not. What I can say is a big “Thank You” to DU and many of it’s members here. I first joined in 2007, but lurked off and on for a couple of years before that. I found a lot of the posts and journals to be informative, insightful and very well written. I was a political junkie who had found her daily fix and then some!

Oftentimes I don’t say much in my posts. I usually find that a lot of what I want to say has already been said and probably much better than I would have anyway :-). In the past, I have shared links to many posts and articles here with everyone I know and have learned a lot. There have been times though when I needed to just take a step back because of the information overload and feeling like there was nothing that I could do to help because things just seem to be so hopeless in this world. I always wind up coming back because I have yet to find another site that can be so informative, entertaining and frustrating at the same time.

Okay, back to getting my daily fix :-)!

1. Congratulations. I reached the 1000 mark a little faster because I

post a lot of "Ditto" and "Me too" and "I agree" stuff.

I tend to do a lot more reading than posting.

6. Congratulations! I've seen DUers reach 1000 posts in one month

and they must be living to post here. To many, numbers are very important (especially if their thread gets an UnRec in the first minutes), but however long it takes to get 1000 is how long it takes. Unless somebody checks your profile they will not know if you have 1000 posts or 50,000 posts so that is a great leveler.
