It's time for real change
There are a lot of people in this country who are angry at our government.
Since the New Deal began, our government has slowly eroded our quality of life in order to reap huge profits and steal the wealth from the citizens of this country. There is not one law they devise that does not benefit them as they trick us into believing that what they do is for our own good. They throw us crumbs here and there in order to gain more power and wealth. The have bought the media so they can spread their propaganda and have hired public relation firms to organize their deceit.
Well it's about time we organize for ourselves.
The teabagger movement, led by false prophets, has been gaining momentum due to it's message of too much government. A lot of people here on DU dismiss them as racists and will post their opinions and propaganda in order to paint them as something other than what they really are...ordinary Americans.
That's right, they are people, just like you and I.
There are racists from all spectrum's of our society but they do not represent the majority. Anyone who would throw them ALL in the same pot has an obvious agenda to keep us ALL divided. It's all part of a P&R playbook that is being played out. They plan to keep us divided so that we remain weak and un-obstructive in their bid for total control of this nations wealth. It has worked well thus far.
Do not play into their perspective that the teabaggers are not reachable. They are real people and also seek real leadership just as we do. Leadership without hidden agendas and false promises.
Now is the time to unite as more and more ordinary Americans look to join sides with others who only wish to take this country back from a corrupt government. Our forefathers founded this country on the ideals that a majority of it's citizens held true and we can do it again. Time may not be on our side but momentum is and we need to take advantage of it no matter what the naysayers opposition may be.

3. I like where you're going with this
But "we" aren't very united. Most of "us" are pacified with entertainment, alcohol and anti-depressants.

People aren't suffering enough. When they finally are suffering enough, you're more likely to see cities burning than non-violent action.

And if you were watching the news during the G20 Summit in Pittsburgh, you may have noticed the police using rubber bullets, tear gas and LRAD weapons. Rich people and the leaders whose leashes they hold don't like being protested by the common man and woman.

I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm saying things are going to get worse before they get better.

4. While I agree with your sentiment
The phrase: Since the New Deal began, our government has slowly eroded our quality of life

..... is just wrong.

The New Deal didnt cause our problems, it solved them at the time.

Its only the far right in our country, those who idolized Mussolini prior to WWII and surreptitiously worked with the Nazi's early in their aggressions against Europe, that have done everything they can to undermine those protections afforded by the New Deal for the average American from the craven greed of the wealthy.

8. The New Deal...
a plan devised by a handful of the richest families on this planet, has taken the peoples government away and has replaced it with a corporate socialist system of corruption. From their view, the problem was a strong middle class and everything they have done since then has served to eliminate that threat.

5. It's not about making peace
with teabaggers. It's about Ordinary Americans joining together against a corrupt government.
First we need to make peace with each other and forget the labels that only serve to further the erosion that divides us.
We are all Americans, it's the only label we need.

Now isn't that special!

"Ordinary" White Racist ass "Americans" is exactly what makes up the Teabagger movement....
and their movement started the day after Obama's inauguration.

You are selling something,
and I'm sure in the fuck not buying it.

11. The teabagger/birther movement = not our friends
They're not even accomplishing anything constructive. They're being manipulated by the Rockefellerian cartel to stir up public disapproval and (violent) resistance to Obama. They aren't our allies. They're idiots and troglodytes who are being used by our more pressing enemies.

16. You miss the point
It's about uniting against a corrupt government. Those teabaggers as you call them are just Americans who also want their government to represent them. They are not all racist, the majority are ordibnary people who are looking for leadership that represents their ideals. It would be racist to dismiss them as anything but.

13. Corrupt government my ass - the teabaggers formed even before the Administration did
Their only reason for existence was and is to combat the 'socialist' boogieman. We need more socialism, not less. We do NOT need teabagger ignoramuses on our side. You think Blue Dogs are too conservative? Seriously, this is the worst idea ever.

18. Sorry: the New Deal helped slow the erosion of our society caused by the advent of capitalism...
...in the mid-1800s. That erosion gained speed again with the utter surrender of the Federal government to the corporate Mob under Reagan, and it's not significantly slowed since.

I do agree that we need to unite as a people against the common scourge of capitalism, but the teabagging folks and their ilk will have to have an epiphany first: working and poor people are not the enemy; capitalists are.

23. New deal myths
Way off topic but since It was brought it up....

When Reagan changed the New Deal, by the numbers in 1980, it looked as if it was failing.
Inflation had reached fifteen percent and unemployment was between seven and eight percent. Our aging industrial complex was becoming inefficient as more wealth was being transfered to the greedy.
The New Deal had built tremendous bureaucratic structures of regulation which created a condition that Reagan used in order promote his New Deal of deregulation. Either way, the new deal accomplished a greater stranglehold of government intrusion into our lives.
Maybe you would like to start a new thread to debate this.

26. Missed the point too
Reagan used the New Deal numbers to radically deregulate corporate interest which transfered even more wealth to the greedy. While the new Deal created more government, Reagan used it to create the monstrosity that it is today....lol

27. Then it's you who has missed the point.
There are only two ways to go in American capitalism: regulation by the state, or deregulation resulting in monopolies.

If you have a third way, by all means enlighten us.

29. No you don't
You can't see past your own nose. We need to unite...AS AMERICANS...to take this country back from the corrupted individuals who have taken it over. Most tea baggers are simply ordinary Americans who also want the same. If someone was to stand up and take the lead, they would follow. Look at how many people followed Obama only to find out he was really a closet neocon with corporate interests. The majority need a movement right now that does not represent corporate policies. The neocons want a corporate socialist type government since they believe that we, as individuals, are not educated enough to make our own decisions. In oder to accomplish this, they have divided us with your mentality.
As I stated, if we stop using labels, we would be able to unite. Not with the tea baggers, but with Americans.
