Florida is for all intents and purposes a GOP lock, thanks to the home-field advantage they own because of the local officials who control the elections. Spending campaign money there is a fool's errand...but maybe we don't need to.

Sorry, but even if it's GOP-controlled we should not give up. It says "why vote when Diebold will count" as some on this site were moaning in 2005 and 2006. Guess what? States like MD and VA (and OH in 2006) have Diebold, and we still won! While touch-screen machines are vulnerable to fraud (and Ohio in 2004 and Christine Jennings are good examples) it doesn't mean that they are ALWAYS susceptible, and in EVERY region of a given state.

15. It's still Republican on the Presidential level

Tester only narrowly won election, and Schweitzer only got into office in 2004 was about 5-6%. Also, the GOP took back one of the houses in the state legislature by one seat (that election was close, however.) However, I think there is an outside chance of Montana going blue, but until I see polls, I
m going to assume that it will still go red. With Virginia, Bush only won there by single digits in 2000 and 2004 (and Clinton almost won Virginia in 1996.)

10. We're not so blue here in Missouri

We do have a mixed Senate and we are trending bluer, that said however, we are still under the thumb of baby doc blunt and a republic house and senate. There are pockets of low browed knuckle draggers here who will never change, were it not for KC, St. Louis, and Colombia, we would have lost the election last fall.

All we need is a candidate who pays attention to their needs, and we'll be golden. And hopefully Arkansas will go Democratic. Not as worried about Ohio now.

Florida could still have shenanigans. But the map is looking good for the right candidate.
