National Anti-teapartier "counterstrike/counterboycott"

The Teapartiers are planning to have a nationwide "strike"/"boycott" in order to "financially cripple" the companies across America that they feel are "backing a leftist agenda" and "funding socialism."

In other words, any company that advertises on CNN or MSNBC or which donates money to the Democratic Candidates.

Well, the Teabusters can play with money too. Here is the plan, as I see it:

If you need to get gas, buy necessities, or go grocery shopping during the week of January 20th, try and do so on January 20th itself. In theory, this small flood of business will help negate any "boycott" that the Teaparties attempt.

Also, I suggest stepping it up a notch:

Write anti-teaparty slogans in RED INK on dollar bills and use (or otherwise distribute) them that day. Or any and all other days, if you're so motivated. Black or any other color ink is fine too- it's just that red ink is the most noticeable.

Contrary to popular belief, writing messages on a dollar bill is NOT A CRIME. It's only a crime if the intent is to commit fraud by obscuring or altering the bill's value.

Click below for the actual federal statute (notice the word "fraudulently"):
http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/18/331.html

Here's the thought behind this strategy:

1- A dollar bill is a virtually indestructible piece of paper; not only because it can survive stresses such as laundry cycles, but also because few people will ever consciously decide to destroy a dollar bill

2- A dollar bill passes indiscriminately among everybody in society, regardless of race, age, gender, political affiliation, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.

3- Dollar bills with messages written on them travel fast because people who find them tend to hastily pass them off to someone else (like bad pennies) because they falsely believe that dollar bills with writing on them are worthless. They're not. But even if they were, it's only one dollar.

4- You are essentially hijacking the government's life force in order to overtly pass messages.

AS ALWAYS, TEABUSTERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO INVITE 10 (OR HOWEVER MANY THEY WANT) PEOPLE TO JOIN OUR MOVEMENT!

1. Teabaggers are Republicans for the most part and
oppose strikes for collective bargaining and now they are going to strike that's a hoot. The Republicans arrogance and stupidity knows no bounds.

2. Let em strike and lose their jobs
No union to protect them, since they won't join unions. And of course they will turn down the unemployment since it is SOCIALIST.

3. People will support their strike about as well
as they've supported all their large scale protests.

Remember, most of them are angry because they're unemployed. It's not like they're going to have much of an effect.

It would be really nice if they weren't such suckers for demagogues.

6. Hm...why don't we demonstrate in front of the insurance companies that own them?
Now THAT would be a counterstrike driven into the heart and purses of the teabaggers. Have demonstrations outside the headquarters of major insurance companies around the country, denouncing the teabaggers as tools of their corporate masters.

We could also offer to fill in at these insurance companies as workers that day while the teabaggers are out playing "activist". . .

10. One day strikes don't hurt or help anyone or anything
They are ridiculous empty symbolic gestures that don't change a thing. Especially when no one cares except the people who think it's such a great idea. I belong to a union and we've done these strikes. The only kind of strike that works is one that's longer and done when the workers are needed most. Any business can easily survive diminished revenue for one day. If it can't then it's already in trouble.

If people really want change they need to get serious about how to go about it and a one day strike is utterly stupid and useless and accomplishes nothing.

Let them have their one day strike and let the msm cover it as if it really means something. Nothing will change. Millions from around the world marched in protest of the Iraqi war and the only reference Bush made to it was to say he didn't make decisions based on 'focus groups'.
