Secret Service Investigating Obama Effigy in Ga.
Secret Service Investigating Obama Effigy In Plains, GA
January 3rd, 2010, 6:22 PM UTC
An effigy of President Obama was found hanging from a building in Plains, Georgia, the hometown of former President Jimmy Carter, and the Secret Service is investigating. (h/t The Political Carnival)

According to footage from WALB-TV, the doll was hanging by a noose in front of a red, white and blue sign that says “Plains, Georgia. Home of Jimmy Carter, our 39th President.” A witness told the television station that the doll wore a sign with Obama’s name on it.

Local residents are perplexed and not happy to have their town represented this way.

A few people were able to snap pictures of the black doll with the rope hanging off that building right in the center of town before it was taken down.

The doll was hanging on a building on Main Street in Plains.

“I saw this stuffed thing hanging up,” said Alonzo Davis, Plains Resident.

Davis is one of the people who saw the doll hanging off the brick building he said a sign on the front had President Obama’s name on it.

“Why it’s hanging up there,” said Davis.

Why is the question many here are asking.

4. As usual nothing will be done. BUT
when crap like this happened to the bush administration, the person went to jail and then was investigated...remember the little kids being kicked out of school because they had T=shirts on that said they didn't like bush.

5. I don't recall any action being taken over effigies of Bush, I expect none over Obama
T-shirt issues abound throughout the educational system..,including political ones.

6. Back this summer when nuts were carrying guns to Obama rallies
I did a Google search on threats against Obama and found that actually 2 people were charged with threats against Obama and if I'm remembering correctly at least 1 of them went to jail.

Gotta go to lunch now so I don't have time to see if I can find again.
