Record snowfall brings Beijing and Seoul to a standstill

Look how dirty is it.

What's the climate of Beijing like? It seems to have winter lows similar to those you would see in the northern plains of the United States.

Temperatures in the Chinese capital are expected to fall to -18C (-32F) tonight, with predictions they could reach -32C in the northernmost parts of the country by Wednesday morning.

1. Looks like a parking lot
If you go to U.S. and Canadian parking lots after they've been sanded an salted, they look the same. All the exhaust and oil hitting the melting snow is pretty gross to look at. Give me fields of white any day.

5. Wrong, as was the article. It was zero degrees Fahrenheit.

In fact, -32C is about zero degrees F. And that IS shown with your converter, which noted the overprecise -0.4F. What was wrong with the news report was that the 32 was not subtracted from the Fahrenheit temperature of freezing, which is 32, resulting in -32F in the report rather than the correct 0 degrees F.

(A minor in chemistry still comes in handy for something these many decades later.)

By the way, does this make the Chinese and South Korean capitals Seoul brothers?
