Can we get something straight? The 9/11 terrorists did NOT come from Canada

I just read about the latest news that President Obama was dealing with a possible threat during his inauguration. That a terrorist attack was imminent from terrorists coming across the Canadian border. I have no knowledge whether that story is true or not. I haven't heard it before.

And tonight, I heard a caller on Ron Reagan Jr.'s show say "the 9/11 terrorists came from Canada, didn't they? Should we be searching all Canadians now?" Ron Reagan Jr. didn't correct her. And this wasn't the first time I've heard this theory from supposedly educated, progressive sources.

Is this a popular belief? If so, I can't believe it. Both of our intelligence services have worked closely for decades on threats to our corner of the world. If there was ANY INDICATION that the 9/11 terrorists came from Canada, it would have been a major scandal HERE.

Sorry about the rant, but I just want to set the record straight, just in case some still believe this falsehood.

1. This is *NOT* a popular belief.

9/11 is associated with people taking flying lessons in Florida, etc., not Canada.

The only Canadian-crossing incident I remember was the so-called Millennium bomber who wanted to blow up LAX or something back in 2000.

Before the 19 were even identified. It was debunked later in the day, but it continued on RW sources. If pressed, Hannity will STILL claim it today.

I'm just surprised to hear it from so-called "informed" sources.

"Nonetheless, to the extent that terrorists have come into our country or suspected or known terrorists have entered our country across a border, it's been across the Canadian border. There are real issues there."

When asked if she was referring to the 9-11 terrorists, Napolitano added: "Not just those but others as well."
