Is Cheney a traitor?
He has given aid and comfort to terrorists in the past, and has and is actively undermining our efforts to stop terrorism.

That is treason in my view.

1. I think it's gone on long enough
Perhaps the threat of prosecution will shut him up.

20. Why threaten?
Eric Holder needs to convene a Grand Jury and indict Cheney on as many charges as possible. The criminal Cheney being a free man has gone on long enough

28. I don't think he believes he's a true patriot to the USA, but to the NEOCON AGENDA.
Cheney doesn't give a SHIT about the American people. 911 = MIHOP with CHENEY at the controls - literally "overseeing" war games by NORAD that day.

Fucking murderer.

7. Yes.
He's worked against the interests of this country, and furthered his own wallet at the expense of the many for decades. That's a traitor in my book.

Plus he's condemning the policies of a sitting president during war time! (sarcasm).

13. Unsure. What I am sure about...
Unsure whether he is a traitor. What I am sure about is that his sound bites are well considered and carefully planned deliberate attacks on Obama and are geared toward fostering a martial state that would utilize the prison camp system in which he has invested heavily financially.

15. Now on Olbermann & Maddow, we're hearing about .gov officials deliberately withholding intel...
possibly to make political rivals look bad.

It's certainly something within Cheney's MO, and frankly, if he's caught, I want to see this traitor hang.

This is giving aid and comfort to enemies of the United States. That's a capital offense.

16. Disloyal, giving aid to a government's enemies.
Treason, sedition mean disloyalty or treachery to one's country or its government.

Treason is any attempt to overthrow the government or impair the well-being of a state to which one owes allegiance; the crime of giving aid or comfort to the enemies of one's government.

Sedition is any act, writing, speech, etc., directed unlawfully against state authority, the government, or constitution, or calculated to bring it into contempt or to incite others to hostility, ill will or disaffection.

Sedition does not amount to treason and therefore is not a capital offense.

18. nonsense, he's very loyal to his cause. it's just that HIS cause isn't AMERICA'S cause.
he co-opted the seat of power for his own purposes and for the purposes of his nefarious network of amoral filthy rich bastids. but he was frankly pretty honest about it. so he's not a traitor in that sense.

he's also not a traitor in the constitutional sense, in that he didn't take up arms against the government. he didn't have to.

21. Well, duh.
Someone who actively works to undermine the American government, betraying his country while pretending to be an American citizen himself is called a traitor. cheney and al Qaeda have exactly the same goals. Conservatives in general are the true enemies of America.

26. He is the perfect example of a bottleneck.
Bastards get themselves into a position of power and won't budge. They block any attempt to look into their affairs. Including launching into a full out offensive that will push you out of their court. That's what he's doing to Obama, right now.

He was CEO when Halliburton traded technological information against US and UN sanctions. IMO that is the definition of Treason.

34. Cheney's most egregious
act of treason was knowingly disregarding intelligence that predicted a terrorist attack on 9/11. Obviously Cheney did this because it would allow them to achieve the Neo-Con and personal objectives. And it worked to perfection.

No one will ever convince me that my beliefs on this are tin foil hat and the like. The evidence is simply too strong. They knew the day, the time, the participants, the method and every single particular. They enabled 9/11 to happen.

Dick Cheney should be tried and convicted and hung by the neck until dead. First, of course, he should be waterboarded to make sure we get ALL the information. You know, since Dick is a firm believer in the effectiveness of waterboarding.

36. Attacking Obama to help his daughter Liz
Liz Cheney thinks she has a chance at national office (VP nomination?) in 2012 and the Dick would love to see her in a high position. Everything he does to hurt Obama helps her with the right wing nuts who still love him. And the media is certainly helping her with constant appearance on tv as if she is a somebody to be listened to and the never-ending reruns of the Dick's speeches.

37. Revoke his security clearance
That's the first step that should be taken immediately. He's a private citizen now and has no need for such a clearance anymore, especially if he's going to use it to try and undermine our anti-terrorist efforts. Revoke it and let it be known that anybody passing classified info to Cheney will be prosecuted.

Then start the proceedings against him, prosecute and jail his sorry ass. :grr:
