Cuba hasn't ever done anything to US. The only time there were aircraft incidents pertaining to Cuba, they were hijackings of planes TO Cuba(and that hasn't been done since the 1960's)by people who wanted to OVERTHROW the Cuban government(you know, those white people with all the guns in Little Havana?), or the sane Miami Cuban white people BLOWING UP a Cubana airliner and killing innocent Cuban citizens for no reason.

The Cuban government has never done anything to any U.S. airliner, and they haven't done anything to attack any other country since the 1970's(when they were backing the LESS psychotic side in Angola).

Leave them out of this. It's time to end the last of the Cold War anyway.

Not only what you mentioned, but also the fact that Cuba is offering to educate poor Americans in the health field as long as they agree to practice in poor neighborhoods IN AMERICA when they graduate. I don't think America will see a more genuine olive branch than that. I have to give them credit where credit is due on that, among other things.

5. When The Cubans Vote For Recognition...

I agree that the Cuban blockade has been a total failure and it's long overdue to end this last dinosaur of the Cold War era. Cuba is no threat to this country. I remember the days when US planes would regularly end up going to Havana...that was 40 years ago.

This is no longer an international matter but one of domestic politics. As long as either party thinks they can get a few extra votes from Florida Cubans for supporting a boycott or profiling, that's the way things will be. My bets are you couldn't find any evidence of why there is a boycott in the first place or any legitimacy for it, but since it's been such a political football for so long, the party's figure it's more important to get the South Florida votes than to lift the embargo.
