What's the latest on Healthcare "Reform"

Are pre-existing conditions going to be covered?
I am 50 and have diabetes.

What happened to the "public option"

1. Public Option is deceased.
It suffered a massive coronary* in talks between the other PO and the Health Insurance Industry, aka our new overlords, before negotiations even began.

Public Option was then pronounced DOA. Unfortunately for Public Option, it didn't have health insurance, so it was allowed to die right there on the floor in front of our fearless leaders. Our President and Congress saw it all happen and decreed, "The cheap bastard should have bought health insurance." :nopity:

Next question?

*Rumor has it that Public Option was stabbed in the back approximately 61 times before suffering the massive coronary, but our fearless leaders have insisted they did everything in their power to save it. You know how it goes. They didn't want to get dirt under their expensively manicured, polished nails.

5. "did everything in their power to save it. "
Here's some band-ades for your ruptured artery. lol

Frankly, we all have been taken for a ride on this grand kabuki "public option" train of stupidity.

We were never going to get it. There was never ever a hope for it. oh they paid us lip service and like the hopeful little morons still riding high on "yes, we can" and "fired up and ready to go", we fell for it. just like how the morons in congress fell for the patriot act out of fear, we fell for the public option song and dance out of hope.

We are a nation of fools. We still believe naively that there are elected leaders that listen to the people. They listen to no one except their corporate financiers.

We have stopped questioning everyone. repukes and Democrats alike have fallen into the "support no matter what" level of mentality.

We as a nation have to stop blindly following every fucking glad hander out there that blows smoke up our collective asses.

We as Dems have been so starving for anything from our party that when the health care reform came along we thought, "hell we have a Dem Prez, majority in both house and congress, there is no way they can fuck this up, right?"

Well, here we are, they fucked it up.

I believe no one. I bank on nothing. I won't keep my outrage to myself anymore. I'm angry with the bullshit that is spewed by reid, pelosi and Obama. They placate us, they soft soak us and they, in the end, swindle us.

There are those who say, "if we don't get something passed now, we will never have another chance!!" Bullshit on that. You know why? the next fucking time a repuke comes in, they will dismantle this faux health care plan with glee.

What would have prevented this? A public option. The morons that are against it now would, in a few years, realize it's actually a good thing. But because there is no public option, we will now be treated to a one dysfunction fuck up fix after another for years to come. This is not unlike each and ever president creating yet another new standard for education. A cobbled together system that is underfunded, under promoted and understaffed.

I'm so sick of this entire charade foisted upon the American public under the guise of "real reform".

Our nations politicians are nothing more than a grand version of Tammany Hall. All bought and paid for by the nearest corporation.

-I didn't mean for my simple reply to turn into a giganitic rant. Cheers. :)

2. Probably: insurers have to open policies with people with pre-existing conditions, but no public...
...option.

3. Insurers will no longer be able to consider a 'pre-existing condition' as grounds for rejection.
