I have decided there are really only two kinds of Republicans, The Rich and the Stupid.

The Rich for obvious reasons. The Republicans are 100% for the wealthy. Every action is geared to benefit the well off. Then there are the Stupid. Those that are constantly voting against their own interests for no other reason that they are just plain Stupid...Republicans offer absolutely nothing for those that are not well off. The Stupid believe somehow some of that wealth will either "trickle down" to them or rub off on them in some other manner..They expect to become more wealthy simply by being a Republican when in fact the exact opposite is the truth..The "family values" the Republicans say they firmly believe in are nothing more than a joke for the elected Republicans. Just more BS to keep the Stupid in line...And the Stupid, because they are Stupid, stay in line and in fact do the leg work for the Party..Throw them a little Red Meat and they will do anything... anything at all, because to them the "ends justify the means". Nothing and I mean nothing is off limits to them..

There are certainly some republicans who just hate pretty much non-stop and cringe at the thought of anyone not like them receiving any more rights or liberties. So they associate themselves with the party most likely to actively fight those people from getting them. But yeah, the great, great bulk of republicans fall into the rich and/or stupid camp. And there's certainly a lot of overlap for all three of those characteristics.

Observation over decades leads me to believe too many of 'the stupid' are still nursing unmet childhood needs for love & acceptance from the parental figure. They will do almost anything, put up with almost anything in their efforts to get love from the parental figure.

In their adult years, they transfer that seeking from actual parents to the rich. The rich HAVE. The rich can PROVIDE. The rich become stand ins for the parents and too many adults spin their wheels, getting stuck deeper in the mud, trying to please the parental figure/rich.

Sure, lots of us did not have the most wonderful parents. Not all of us neglected kiddies grew up to be 'the stupid' supporting the GOP in opposition to our own, and the nation's, best interest. How did that happen? Simple, some of us grew up, at least a little. Some of us moved on from needing some love and approval from the authority figure.

Authority figure. There's the root of the issue. So many wounded kids didn't grow, they got older and bigger. They still look for love and acceptance from the authority figure and they have transfered that to 'the rich'.

Then again, I did not spend last night in a Holiday Inn.

29. That's an interesting idea. It would kind of explain something I've noticed for years.

Whenever there's a story of police abuse in the news-- I mean when the story first breaks-- I immediately turn on right-wing talk radio. I've done this for years, because it's always interesting to hear how quickly they all line up in support of law enforcement, before they have any details at all. Assuming guilt without details of the incident would be just as bad, and many of them even remark on what an outrage it is that some will do that.

They immediately leap to support authority, to flatter and defend it. It's actually bizarre-- especially coming from people who love to complain about "big government" and revel in fantasies of being some kind of underdog.

when I was young and stupid I rebelled and became a republican. As i was a self employed Businessman I found this to be true of the republican party. I was invited to fundraisers and other meetings where only the wealthy could possibly attend.
the dumb "gun nuts" were the base and treated with kid gloves. yet not mined for information nor ideas.
the stupid ones were merely expected to Propagandize, show up and vote.

The stupid ones felt like they were Hob knobbing with and would potentially be included in the "upper tier". yet unless you had your own money on the level of the others in that top tier, were you included or even mined for ideas.

In fact they still send me Questionnaires asking my opinion of how to approach issues.(I have been a registered Democrat and Active since 2000) I send them back with as hard right opinion I can muster... sometimes just for fun i fill them out as Leftist as possible. I sent one out just yesterday (filled out so leftist Marx would be proud). :)

As A son of a Garbage man who "made it" I am disgusted at how republicans cater to perpetuate oligarch wealth. Whilst at the same time saying they are on the side of "the little guy" when their intent is to run roughshod on the backs of the middle class and keep "labor" in their place.

A fully Class leveled society is their aim.


on a side note a friend of mine is a big heart person who is "Born, bred, DNA, Democrat." yet her Husband is fully a "trust fund republican" and donates to republicans in her name. routinely I will spot her on a donor list donating to Democrats a few hundred dollars... whilst then see her name donating the maximum allowed to republicans right next to her husbands name for the same amount.
