3. I'm so glad I don't have to fly.
I always hated flying when I was in the Navy. Promised myself that when I retired in '91, I'd never set foot in another plane, and I haven't. As much as I hated it then, I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like now.

2. All has been cleared. See article here from Channel 4 in Greenville.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -- A bomb squad team has given the '"all clear" at the Greenville/ Spartanburg International Airport after an incident Tuesday morning.

Airport spokesperson Rosylin Weston said Concourse B was evacuated around 10:30 a.m. after a Transportation Security Administration employee discovered a door leading out to the tarmac was opened and unattended.

Weston said a Delta plane was on the tarmac, so a dog was brought out to sniff the area. The plane was getting ready to depart and only had a crew onboard.

The dog indicated it found something on the nose wheel of the plane, so a bomb disposal team from Spartanburg was called to check it out. The team searched and cleared the aircraft shortly before noon.

10. /calm down ad wait to see what the material really was!
I just heard that the all clear has been issued in Bakersfield. The dogs did find some material inside of a checked bag, but are not saying what it was. I don't know much about how the dogs are trained and what substances theyare trained to detect, but I can think of a lot of different things that COULD have been packed, especially just after the holidays that COULD have triggered a false positive. TSA & the airlines are very nervous right now, and they are going to respond to any possibility instead of taking any chances at all. I understand that, and I don't necessarily think it wrong. It does create a lot of inconvenience, but if YOU were flying I think you'd feel it's worth it.

9. This is fugging madness
I want to travel to Europe this summer for a sibling's anniversary, but at this rate I may never fly again. This is way too much confusion and stress for me.
