Let's put the Presidents committment to the working class to the test..
Unionize!

Organize our workplaces.

A Pro-worker President will stand behind labor and protect the working class' right to organize.

I believe in Hilda Solis, Secretary of Labor.

It may pressure congress to pass EFCA with strong card check provisions.

Never forget the power of COLLECTIVE BARGAINING.

Please understand, the power and protection of a union contract. It can enable you to earn a better life.

UAW led the way. They organized America and helped create the middle class after the Great Depression. America unionized our way out of the Great Depression. And we can do it again.
We need our unions more than ever, now. To combat the growing wealth divide.

Ladies and gentleman, that's the power of a union contract.

http://www.uaw.org/

UAW is one of many fine unions in America today.

Be wise, UNIONIZE!

Solidarity.

UY

4. He's been trying to get that message across
its us that have to make the change, its his job to lead us in that. Or better yet he has offered us his leadership if we want to use it. So far not many are and thats not a fault of his, that's our fault. He is there to lead us out of this huge hole we're in but we have to do the actual climbing, he'll give us a path to follow but we have to follow it. Willy nilly is why we're here where we're at.

5. Yes, his leadership on healthcare reform was so impressive
We did a damn good job of letting Congress and the administraion know what we wanted in a healthcare bill and we were ignored. If Obama was serious about change - and our being part of it - he would have fought for what the people were telling him they wanted, not what would make pharma and the insurerance companies happy.

7. In American politics, the people need to lead the politicians. Otherwise nothing gets done

We need to force Obama to fight for the working man. Waiting for him to stop being stupid is not an option.

10. That only works when the politicians LISTEN to the people
They didn't listen when we told them Iraq was bullshit. They didn't listen to polls that said 70% of this country wants ACTUAL health care reform (i.e. single payer or a public option) Obama got record crowds coming to see him and record votes electing him.

The people have clearly been speaking. And the politicians have said "Meh..... what you got for me, Gold Mansacks/United Health Care/WalMart/etc."

11. You don't "tell them." You threaten them.
You don't campaign against the war and still vote for pro-war candidates. You say "support withdrawal or you don't get our votes." You don't campaign for single payer and vote for a watered down public option. You say "Single Payer or no votes for you!"

9. I saw a union sticker on the door at my local grocery store
I had no idea they were unionized but I say good for them. I know alot of grocery stores struggle with wage issues and don't always have the strength of a union to help fight for a living wage.

14. It passed the House, then died in the DLC controlled Senate. The Senate watered it down..
by stripping the card check provision which makes it worthless. EFCA died for now as a result.

The fight is far from over.

Solidarity!
