She was some lady. She loved working her butt off at Nebraska's first caucus, Feb 08. She enjoyed being a lifelong D. She will be missed. I can't make it to her service tomorrow, I have to work. We have blizzard conditions warnings already, and I know we will be short handed.

Stalwart of Sarpy Dems dies at 80
By Sue Story Truax
WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER
Family members called her “Mom” and “Grandma.” Longtime friends, Phyllis. And labor unions knew her as a friend.
Phyllis Eby of Bellevue also carried the title “Queen of Sarpy County Democrats.” On her birthday, the county party gave her the crown to prove it.
“She was a friend of labor,” said Carol Blood, chairwoman of Sarpy County Democrats and president of the Bellevue City Council. “She was a friend to area Democratic candidates. And she was an amazing volunteer.
“If something had to get done, it got done.”
Phyllis E. Eby died Saturday at the Nebraska Medical Center following a brief illness, said daughter-in-law Judy Eby of Bellevue. She was 80.
“She enjoyed people,” Judy Eby said. “She just maintained relationships with everybody” and received 300 to 400 Christmas cards each year.
But she was devoted to the Democratic Party, her daughter-in-law said.

And this: It is my sad task to share the word of Phyllis Eby’s passing this afternoon. The Sarpy County Democrats express their sympathy to all of Phyllis’ friends and family.
If you say the words, “good Democrat,” in Sarpy County, you would be hard pressed not to think of our friend, Phyllis Eby. Phyllis was a friend of Labor, a friend to area Democratic candidates, an amazing volunteer and a dear friend.
I, personally, will always have a special place in my heart for Phyllis. I will miss her terribly and smile when I think of her 80th birthday celebration when the Sarpy County Democrats were able to bestow upon her the rightful title of “The Queen of the Sarpy County Democrats.”
Rest in Peace, Phyllis Eby. You will not be forgotten.
