who can be beaten with the right organization, energy and candidate. I know the news media is salivating at the prospect of the Dems losing the Senate....but there is plenty of time to put in the work to see that doesn't happen....

On another note - PBS newshour did a great segment on Obama's presidency tonight - pretty much across the board glowing commentary on how much he has taken on, and his relative success when compared to the first terms of many other presidents.

4. Blumenthal? Hell yes.

I sumarized it for a friend earlier by saying

Agreed. It's a happy day for all involved...except maybe Linda McMahon. That race is no longer winnable for Republicans (even if she makes good on her promise to spend $50M of her own $$$), Richard Blumenthal is beloved by CT residents for being unfailingly-ethical yet as anti-corporate-greed-and-evil as Eliot Spitzer was. I don't think Dick likes hookers though...maybe to legalize and tax the bejesus out of. He's kind of practical like that.

3. North Dakota could be a serious problem

It's less a question of whether a candidate with a "D" after his or her name can win and more a question of whether a decent candidate will be allowed to run in the first place.

And given the pathetic excuses for "Democrats" in most of the neighboring states, that's what troubles me. I would take Dorgan over the likes of Baucus, Conrad, or Dasshole any time. And no, I don't think Ed Schultz is going to run.

We do not need anymore FAKE "Democrats" in the Senate. Not now, not ever.
