3. People can agree to disagree on whether it's fun.

My wife and I lived in Rochester, NY, and they have sort of a "winter days" festival down at Mendon Ponds. Or at least used to. Cross-country skiing, skating, all sorts of winter outdoor sports and games. A colleague suggested it, said it was fun.

We went. For 5 hours we traipsed around in the snow. Went skiing. Did various things, watched informal competitions. I had a blast. I "wintry blast," I guess. My wife complained constantly and was sure she was going to die from the cold, from the blinding white light, from the cold, from the activity, from the wind, from the cold.

I'm a Marylander, so I found it cold. She's an Arizonan, from the lowlands. She was sure she could see CO2 slicks forming on the trees around her.

As for your photo, why do I want to guess that the guy is (1) drunk or high and (2) lost a bet or was forced to do that on a dare?

Such things tend to crop up around our university neighborhood after a snowfall; a couple of the frat houses are routinely 'monitored' because of their proximity to an elementary school.
