msnbc now. In some States 911 operators are hired from fast food
workers. Some are paid LESS than fast food workers! Many don't even know how to do CPR. It's all because of lack of $$$!

I just read an article that some Fla. programs are stopping dialisis treatments for the poor because there's NO MONEY!

How bad are things going to get before the leaders concede there's no alternative but to raise many of those taxes that Shrub & his pals cut????

4. The 911 tax on your phone bill is often not used for 911 service
This is outrageous.
We are told we are paying for 911, but instead state governments use it for other purposes.

Ever call 911?
On TV cop shows, the actor just says the address and 2 minutes later the ambulance arrives.
When I called to report a major car crash, it was like applying for a mortgage with someone who was slow as molasses.
The ambulance arrived 20 minutes later and the poor guy was dead.

6. 911 services are partially paid for by the telco's
every time one of our customers calls 911 we have to pay a surcharge to to the PSAP where the 911 call was terminated...

Just FYI :)

7. Yes I hear them say the many times those funds are used for
roads & almost every other service you can think of.

I have to say that our 911 service were I live is very good! My neighbor has a medical problem where she just passes out for no apparent reason, and someone in her house calls 911 quite often. I called them when another neighbor's house caught fire, and my hubby called them for me several months ago because I thought I was having a heart attack. The people were always very fast and efficient & the EMT/Fire folks arrived very fast too.

5. How about we just stop being the world`s sheriff? We could passably afford to take care of
our own people. Perhaps if we spent foreign aid on those people who need help instead of on their war machines? Ah,yes, I`m one of those people who believe that you can accomplish more with a pat on the back than a kick in the ass. IMHO, taxes should be geared to luxury items. Corps. are not people and should be taxed to pay their fair share. I have no problem with rich people making wages in the stratosphere, but they should pay stratosphere taxes. Is the CEO more of a person than the homeless person? No, we are all just people when all is said and done, and whoever has the most money is not going to win anything when they leave this life behind. IMHO, HCR reform is a cruel joke when you don`t treat health care as a right.

8. So...maybe it DOES make sense to call 911 when Burger King won't make your burger right
the way that one woman did! Maybe she knew something the rest of us didn't...
