At the same time that some GOPers are trying to convince the public that no terrorist acts took place under George W. Bush, others, far more smart and reflective have realized that theirs is the party of Crazy Talk these days. While their base is solid, pretty everyone else is looking at the GOP and laughing.

That is why they cannot afford to can Steele's ass. It cement the idea that the GOP is a cracker white, racist, elderly male party that loves to send other folks' sons to fight in wars of choice. No matter how weird Steele's stick is, he is clearly being himself, and enjoying it. Firing him for that will cut the nuts off of the GOP, and because they didn't bother to save up any sperm, such a move might mean that we are seeing the final generation of Team GOP.
