ONGOING rape, torture, disappearances and murders in Honduras
Massacre in Aguán
Sat, 01/09/2010 - 08:18 — AP

I have had very limited internet access, a situation that will continue for the next few days. Don't think, because of my lack of activity, that there isn't a LOT going on in Honduras. This tragic story from yesterday, prefaced by an email to me from a friend in Honduras, is one out of far too many examples.

*Dr. Pine, I am getting calls from my own relatives who work among the campesinos right in the area, who are currently running through the mountains. I have known these persons for many years, and I trust them. I am being told there are armed platoons assassinating people in BLACK-OPS fashion, with armed commandos storming the area, shooting around and killing people, while the Army and Police remain in outside PRETENDING to be evicting the campesinos, which is only a cover for the REAL OPERATION GOING ON INSIDE against unarmed men, women, including pregnant women, and children. The scene being described to me reminds me of the siege of Waco, Texas. This is definitely MASS MURDER. Already a couple Army pick-up trucks have departed filled with the bodies of assassinated peasants. Women are being raped and killed in the Palm plantations. Lots of people are being detained and sent into the Army Camps. They are letting NO ONE go in and check the conditions. It seems they will do that only after cleaning up the mess, to make it look like a 'peaceful eviction'. Already corporate media is talking about a 'Peaceful Eviction'. Please let your people know about this. Even if only a fraction of this is true, it is still Mass Murder, Rape, and many other heinous crimes that are being committed by the golpistas at this moment against the poor people of Honduras.

Army murders peasants in Bajo Aguán

NOTE: BREAKING NEWS contradicting statements made by ARMY AND POLICE spokespersons.

NOTE: NO LESS THAN A DOZEN OF FARMERS KILLED, AND A MULTITUDE OF RURAL WOMEN SEXUALLY ASSAULTED AND RAPED IN THE OIL PALM PLANTATIONS.

Fyi, this is a source that I have found to be reliable.

Where is Hillary Clinton's State Department?

1. Someone told me yesterday that the administration
would rather be accused of RW tactics than lose another country in this hemisphere. Venezuela has them in a tailspin. Their virtual silence on the coup until it was way too late suggests that nothing has changed re US foreign policy in this hemisphere.

3. Exactly. This isn't about Obama. It's about the establishment
he inherited.

Things are very, very bad. Gay people, women and black people are being especially targeted by these cornered rats.

SOMETHING has to be done here. :(

5. Presidential candidates don't get past the party screening process if they are unwilling to toe the
Establishment line.

2. Thank you for this post, and the information source
I'm also very interested in what's going on in Latin America.

Part of what I have been told is my "personal narrative" is that our "war on drugs" is nothing more than a cover for imperialism. If you want to understand our foreign policy in Latin America, listen to Chomsky not the U.S. State Department.

Again, thank you for the post.

12. If they'd take the Venezuelan route of investing oil profits for the benefit of all, I'd agree.
Otherwise, they'd only be ripe for exploitation by internal and foreign interests, and with the current coup regime that'd be all but inevitable.
