OB-GYN Says Teens Were Invited In, With Patient's Permission, For Community Service

When you go to the doctor, you probably assume that everyone in the room is necessary medical personnel. But what if they weren't?

What if they were just spectators? One pregnant woman in Northwest Indiana says it happened to her - at the OB-GYN.

The woman's doctor admits there were two teenagers in the room; one was his daughter. But he says the whole thing is a big misunderstanding.

"When my doctor walked in, first he had one young lady with him, and he basically said this is my intern," Ora Lee said. "He started my exam, which was a vaginal exam"

Lee says she went to her doctor's office on New Year's Eve. Ora is a proud military wife. She and her husband - a sergeant in the Marines - are expecting their first child next month.

When she went to the doctor's, she says two young women came in the room wearing white coats. She says the doctor let one of the girls measure her and feel her baby's head by touching her pelvic or vaginal area.

"They seemed a little bit nervous, and so I just asked them like, 'How long have you guys been in medical school?'" Lee said.

"They actually both looked at each other, then they looked at him and he goes, 'Actually this is my daughter, and this is her friend. They're still in high school but this is for community service.'"

Her reaction? "I was shocked, I was so startled," she said.
