ATLANTA, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Informants claim former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick drowned, shot and bludgeoned fighting dogs to death, documents indicate.

Summaries of interrogations of a member of Vick's dogfighting ring and with confidential informants conducted by federal investigators were released Friday to WSB-TV, Atlanta, through a Freedom of Information Act request. The broadcaster said they contained claims that Vick killed fighting dogs that didn't perform well by hitting them with shovels and that he got an "adrenaline high while killing the dogs."

The transcripts were compiled by the U.S. Department of Agriculture as investigators probed dog fighting allegations against Vick.

They also indicated that a Delta Airlines employee was fired for trying to "get Vick around security" while the dog fighting investigation was at its peak, and that the ex-quarterback hired the fired employee himself because he "felt responsible," WSB reported.

My grandmother was from the country and was blessed with the equivalent for animals what plant lovers call a "green thumb". Give her some skinny little runt and a few weeks... it would thrive. She taught me so much, and I my companions have been dogs, cats, hamsters, geese, ducks and rabbits (as an adult at various times, in my childhood all at once) throughout my life.

What I can't comprehend is the callousness of this "person". I have a son, and I can't vouch for how I would have reacted had my child acted so viciously.

I held my little pup to as i read this story and immediately thought of a regular at the dog park, T-T a pit mix who had her ears cut off with scissors so she could be a bait dog! The Virginia county District Attorney (whoever it was that first had this case, a local authority), was told right from the start by informants, that Vick was extremely sadistic, enjoyed torturing the dogs, got them wet and then electrocuted them, shot them, stabbed them, beat them, kicked them, all of this slowly and prolonged, as a fun event. The bait dogs are restrained and muzzled, then attacked, chewed on, ripped apart, so every day of their lives is premeditated torture--and informants said right from the start how Vick organized those sessions, too, and was there enjoying it. This original local authority never did anything, and finally, much later, the U.S. District Attorney for that area finally took the case on, after many, many public protests and questions about why they were not. Then, when they finally did--they dropped and did not pursue the most serious charges, which the informants had provided proof of, and risked their lives to tell them about in court. They minimized, trivialized, "privileged" and fucked this whole case from beginning to end, never even prosecuting the main point of the organized dog-fighting torture and killing. Now, the whole thing is over; dicked.
