Michael Eric Dyson on Morning Joe: Democrats are morally weak and hypocritical on Reid's statement.

He says, just because Obama is uncomfortable talking about race, doesn't mean we should not as a country...this should be a teachable moment...there are color issues within the black community.

"If you sound black, you are considered less intelligent".

Hmmmm....

1. I like Reid but...
...he did say early on that "he doesn't take orders from the President", which he never said about Bush...

4. I don't like Reid. My initial feeling about this story is that it's much ado about not much.
But I think Dyson's take added a dimension of deeper thought. He elaborated about Obama being uncomfortable talking about race - and even when black leaders met with him to talk about jobs, he pointedly told them, "I wasn't elected to the President of black America, but all America." True statement, of course, Dyson noted. But blacks certainly were expecting some sympatico with the economic plight many minorities face in this country.

2. Since when is Obama uncomfortable talking about race?
He's been anything but.

5. I do not think Obama would be uncm=omfortable talking about
race. Could it be looking at the current landscape across the
country that talking about race will just bring out the loonies.
(you know all those people who go about with racist and disrespectful
signs in crowds. These people just want affirmation of their
views. They think they get it when Democrats get called on the
carpet.

6. Google 'Obama talks about race'
Results 1 - 10 of about 7,970,000 for Obama talks about race.

He has not shied away from discussing race. The loonies are out there and talking about it doesn't defer them in one way or the other. They've come out of the woodwork because they can't keep their mouths shut since Obama was elected.
