Switch your home and auto insurance - starve the beasts...
It occurred to me that most of us who have health "insurance" are really stuck with that "coverage" because (1) our employer picks it or (2) switching companies is risky (pre-existing, etc.).

However, we do have freedom to switch our home and auto insurance with far fewer restrictions and penalties.

Soooooooo, why not drop all auto/home insurance from companies that also sell health policies and switch to companies who do not swim in that cesspool?

It seems to me that that tactic is the only weapon we peons have to use against the parasitic corps.

Note - I exclude life insurance because of the negative consequences of switching out of a long-held policy.

What do you think, DU?

1. I think the auto and home insurers are no different

All insurance organizations seek to decrease risk, avoid payouts, raise rates, deny claims and so on.

3. Now If You Can Get 10 Million Of Your Closest Friends To Go Along...
I don't see the purpose of this "punishment" These companies will find a way to turn a profit...screwing over existing policy holders with higher rates that surely will drive up other rates...and in the meantime you're without insurance until a new policy kicks in...with no assurance that your rates won't go up higher than what you're currently paying.

Neither my auto or home insurers offer health insurance...and there would surely be a lag time between cancelling one policy and the start-up of another...thus in my state I'd be driving illegally and if something were to happen to my home, I'd be SOL. No thanks...I'll work to get more Progressives elected who will push legislation that will both throttle in the profits and push the creation of competition.

As we've seen time and time again, boycotts have little affect as many of these corporations are like octopi...they have many different branches that keep the money rolling and the loss on one front is covered up by the others. Also, to make a boycott effective you need a lot of people to cooperate...not just a handful...and boycott ALL their subsidiaries. But good luck anywho...

4. I've been trying to crack a much simpler nut..
... I have several credit cards with a large bankster bank I'll not name here.

I'd like to drop these cards and get equivalent cards from a smaller less atrocious bank. But, I cannot find such a beast.

If you Google credit card ratings or somesuch, you will get several sites. There is only one problem, all of the "top rated" cards are from big banks. Not only that, they are the same big banks on most of the sites. In other words, I highly doubt that these sites are objective at all, they are actually authored by said banks.

Eventually, I will solve this problem but I find it discouraging that these folks are gaming the system at every level.
