A friend of mine is going to be part of a group meeting with Grassley today.
He is soliciting questions on healthcare(the more pointed the better)for Lawnmower man. Can you all help out?

My contribution would be:

Grassley pushes this idea of interstate markets for insurers. Why should something like this be considered without increasing regulations on insurers and eliminating the anti-trust exemption?

Explain to me why it is preferable for private sector insurer (beholden to their investors) over a government agent (beholden to the people) to make decisions about my healthcare.

1. and
. . .or why a private insurer who is exempt from antitrust regulation should also be exempt from a public option so long as the public insurance offered was required to go without government subsidy after initial startup costs?

2. Hope to see Grass man myself Thursday in Muscy - Question
Why would a man who bills himself as a fiscal conservative push to have a health care system where the overhead will cost as much as 30% as opposed to a a health care system where the overhead is 3% and covers more people?
Does conservative mean spendthrift?

3. One more - does he retract some of his statements of last summer
especially the ones concerning death panels?
How are the fantasy death panels any different from the reality of insurance companies refusing to cover peple for preventable care or care that could save their lives?

4. Ask him why he is against government run care when Medicare spends 92% of preimums
on health care while private insurers in the Medicare plan only spend 85% of premiums on health care.

5. How much money he's received from the HC industry in the last year...
and why he insisted on "The Dems are going to kill your grandma" lie?

Sorry, Chuck! That was the last straw for me. I have voted for him for years, but never again. He knew that was a lie and thought he could get by with it on the small town visits.

That, and his connection to THE House on C Street, or whatever street it is. In fact, ask him about that connection.
