A Monday de-stresser...
Passengers remove trousers for No Pants Subway Ride

Despite a cold snap across much of the northern world, users of public transit systems in a number of cities took off their trousers for No Pants Day.

The event, which began in New York City in 2002, sees participants with bare legs mingling with other passengers.

Organisers Improv Everywhere say 3,000 people took part in New York with more in 43 other cities in 16 countries.

The group says its mission is to cause "scenes of chaos and joy in public places".

Participants were told to meet at a designated train station fully clothed before boarding and removing their trousers.

1. How about a no-urine-smell subway ride day?
No-pants day is pretty funny though. :)

2. Sorry, I don't see that one on the calender.
I'm surprised that more people in the video didn't have funny underwear on...I mean, if you're going to drop your pants in public, why not take the opportunity to show off your wild undies.

3. C'mon, you don't want to destroy the ambience
of the urban urinal with tracks! Besides, drunks have been pissing on the rails for over a hundred years in cities like Boston. You'd have to pave it over to get rid of the smell and chances are that would only be a temporary fix.

4. That subway "ambience" is one of the primary reasons I left NYC.
While I lived there I kept asking myself, is living here worth the 45 minutes of nausea 5 days a week? After a year I gave up and moved on.

NYC natives are used to the smell.

6. It was great training for nursing school
because by the time I got there, smells just didn't bother me at all.

There's nothing like being stuck in a stalled subway car with no AC in August, too.
